It has come to our attention that a number of .au domain names are currently listed with incorrect information in the Registrant Contact field. AuDA, the governing body for .au domains names, requires the Registrant contact for any .au domain name must be that of the Registrant of record (http://www.auda.org.au/policies/auda-2008-12). Therefore the Registrant contact information cannot contain your Reseller details, with the exception of you being the Registrant for the domain name.

As part of an initiative to ensure that the Registrants of .au domain names have ownership and associated rights to their domain names, we are informing Resellers to check your clients’ .au domain names to ensure the correct information is listed.

This change to contact details must be completed by November 20th 2008. Failure to comply before the aforementioned deadline may result in the status of the domain being changed to “ClientHold”. This would effectively make the domain inactive and cause any website or email service associated with the domain to cease working. This status would remain in place until the details have been updated.

How Do I Change this Information?
If there are multiple registrants under the one MemberID and the details are not correct, you will be required to create a new MemberID and have it transferred over using the .au transfer form. If it is a high volume of transfers, you will be required to send PlanetDomain a spread sheet with the domains and allocated MemberID.

* Please ensure the domain name is registered to the actual Registrant's ABN/ ACN, unless you are the Registrant of record.

The majority of .au domains do contain the correct contact information; a number of domains require this update. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this matter.
